South Africa - Lion King in Real Life
Last year this time I was all set for South Africa to meet my family for one of the best holidays I've had. From Kruger National Park Safari's through to the beaches along the Garden Route, the vineyards of Stellenbosch and the finally to the gorgeous city of Cape Town - South Africa is place I would definitely go back to. Its where my passion for photography took another leap. Taking pictures of some the most majestic animals in the natural environment was a feeling so unreal. The roar of a lion sure did send shivers down my spine at dusk and in the darkness when only the eyes were visible and when at sunrise it sure felt like we were in a scene from the Lion King, as cliched as it may sound.
Then you step out of that and onto the road and you see the torn South Africa, parts where people are still divided by colour and have their own side of the street, you see the poverty, you see the grandeur, you leave the freedom of the jungle for the barred gate of the Waterfront in Cape Town.
10 days in a fascinating country, memories of which were unforgettable since it was the first trip in 5 years where all of us were together.
