Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I’m not as regular as I used to be so if you perchance land on my site, I do hope you enjoy the past travel stories and I hope to start back again someday.

Barcelona - where the 30th birthday celebrations begin

Barcelona - where the 30th birthday celebrations begin

...And finally the time was here...the reason for the trip, my 30th birthday celebration in the epic city of Barcelona, our last leg of the holiday where my parents and friends were joining me for what was to be an awesome 5 days and the best possible 30th celebration i could have asked for.

Everyone told me I would love it but I didn't know it would be such a blast - Barcelona is definitely a crazy fun city and probably the best choice I could have made to celebrate my 30th.

First beginning with me meeting my parents and having the family together along with their close friends, I was ready for a night of being spoiled and how I was. Before heading for our dinner we had champagne in our hotel room to kick off the celebrations and this was followed by a most exquisite experience at Dos Cielos situated on the top level of Hotel Melia Sky Barcelona

We were taken to our table via the kitchen with a quick introduction to the chef, which even according to my hospitality sister, was a very nice way to begin your experience. Then we were situated  on a round table right by the window with a gorgeous view of the entire city. Sitting there at one of the most exclusive restaurants I've ever been to with the people I most love in this world was the best gift I could get. But then again I am known to have the nick name of 'princess' and this is thanks to my absolutely amazing father who spoilt me rotten that day.

With a 7 course meal set out for us to choose from, some amazing champagne and wines to accompany them and to be topped off with delicious deserts - this was one of the best meals of my life!

Coming back to our hotel I was given my amazing presents and feeling like the most loved person that night I went to bed with a massive smile on my face :)

Waking up a bit later than we normally would, on my birthday day we decided to take is easy thanks to our amazing hangover and so made our way walking through the old town part of Barcelona - El Barri Gotic and Ciutat Villa, stopping along the way to admire the architecture and old churches, cobble streets now full of some really cool bars and shops. Stopping occasionally to 'window shop', we managed to make our way down to the beach, where we preached ourselves for a yummy seafood lunch.

Ready to take our siesta back at the Renaissance hotel, we got ready for a dinner that i was celebrating with over 15 friends who came to Barcelona for the weekend to celebrate with me. I never felt this lucky and blessed to have such amazing friends and family. I literally had a full private room booked in a city I had never been to before!

It was simply the best night ever, we ate so much at the lovely restaurant called Ten's who is run by the ex-spain master chef winner and then headed out into the old city for more drinks and chats and once again back in the hotel around 4 am for even more!

I could not have asked for a better celebration.
